Ensuring a multi-generational future
for the Air Line Trail
Many rail trails, if well-built
in the first place, should last about twenty years before needing to be reconstructed and resurfaced. As the Air Line was built according to MDOT and Federal Standards, we have a very good foundation to start with.
The purpose of the Forward Fund is to prepare for when the Trail will have to be resurfaced, and matching funds will be needed to secure grants.
Those funds will come from local government match AND the Forward Fund.
